Hi, welcome in! My name is Rebekah, owner and founder of Bessie Shoppe Bakery. What are you looking for today? We have sweets and treats, delectable delights, and everything in between.

A little about me, I have been baking since before I could reach the kitchen counter! I am so grateful to have been raised in a family where we are free to explore whatever passions we have, especially when those passions include fresh baked treats for my family. I was four years old when I cracked my first eggs into a mixing bowl of ingredients and watched them become cupcakes!

One of my favorite things to do to this day is stand next to my grandpa in the kitchen on a Saturday morning, cooking breakfast. My grandpa has this magical tool for making pancakes. We all stand around the griddle and use to it make funny and creative shapes. We never cease to be amazed and entertained as we watch the batter became our yummy, buttery breakfast. Being together and creating something delicious that we all share is my favorite place to be. It’s just easy, comfy, a big part of who I am and who I want to be.

That’s why I started Bessie Shoppe Bakery! During the quarantine of 2020 when people weren’t able to get out much and delivery was highly sought After, I had a lot of success. In the beginning, I baked whole wheat breads then later expanded my repertoire to cakes and cupcakes. I am so grateful for the day my mom sat with me at our campsite and helped me brainstorm some ways to improve my craft. It wasn’t long before she was on the phone with Puffy Muffin, yep, my first real bakery job! I have learned so much about being a professional decorator and working with customers since I have been there. I have since branched out into pastries, pies, wedding cakes and pretty much any new challenge my customers can dream up. I have also expanded my offerings by throwing small parties and baking workshops for kids. Getting to pass along all that I have learned and the joy I find in baking is almost as fun as baking myself.
